Embark on a remarkable 10-day group adventure that sets off from Lhasa and takes you through enchanting stops like Mount Everest Base Camp and Ganden Monastery. Your exploration kicks off in the sacred city of Lhasa, where you’ll immerse yourself in the beauty of Buddhist heritage, including visits to the Jokhang Temple, Sera Monastery, Norbulingka Palace, and Potala Palace.

On the way to the North Face Base Camp of Mt. Everest, 5200 meters, we'll also stop by Sakya Monastery in Shigatse. If the weather is on our side, you'll be treated to stunning views of the sunset, sunrise, and stars at the world's highest peak!

Day1. Arrival and transfer to the Hotel (3700m)

Upon your arrival at Lhasa airport or train station, you will be greeted by your Tibetan guide; from the airport to Lhasa city is 60km, and a one-hour drive will take you to the holy city of Lhasa. You are driving along the Brahmaputra River and Lhasa River. If you accept the train to Lhasa, you usually will arrive late afternoon or evening; a 20-minute drive will take you to your hotel in Lhasa City. Check into the hotel and rest well to acclimatize to the high altitude.

Day2. Lhasa City Sightseeing (3700m)

After breakfast, you will visit the Jokhang, the holiest Buddhist temple in the Himalayas. Each day, many thousands of Buddhist pilgrims come here to worship. Many have traveled well over a thousand kilometers by foot to see this 1400-year-old temple. After lunch, you will visit the 600-year-old massive monastery complex of Sera. While at Sera, you watch the monks engage in entertaining Buddhist philosophical debates. In the evening, you will have free time to wander around the Old Town alone.

Day3. Lhasa City Sightseeing (3700m)

Today, we visited the beautiful Potala and Norbulingka Palaces. Potala Palace is the Winter Palace, built in the 17th century by the fifth Dalai Lama. It provides fantastic views of the entire city and houses the private quarters of the Dalai Lama, numerous grand staterooms, and chapels. Norbulingka Palace is the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, built in the 18th century by the seventh Dalai Lama.

Day4. Lhasa / Yamdrok Lake / Gyantse / Shigatse

As you embark on your morning drive up to Kampala Pass at 4794m, get ready for a breathtaking experience! You'll catch a glimpse of the beautiful Yamdrok-Tso and the majestic Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar in the distance. The turquoise-colored Lake Yamdrok Yutso, one of Tibet's three holy lakes, will leave you in awe with its pincer-shaped turquoise waters and the stunning spectacle of the Mt. Nyenchen Khangsar glacier from Karo la Pass. The journey continues along the Friendship Southern Hwy to Gyantse, where you can explore the famous Gyantse Kumbum stupa, a true architectural marvel of Tibet. In the late afternoon, enjoy a pleasant 1-hour 10-minute drive to Shigatse at 3840m, covering a distance of 360 km.

Day5. Shigatse / Sakya Monastery / Pelber

In the morning, visit Tashilunpo Monastery after driving to Sakya and visit Sakya monastery on the way, then go to Pelber across Tsou-la Pass (4500m) and Gyatso-la Pass (5220m); with good weather, you can see your first views of Mount Everest. At the end of the day’s 230km journey, we arrive in the evening at Pelber (New Tingri) [3,950m], 200KM

Gawula Pass

Day6. Pelber/New Tingri/ Gawu La / Everest Base Camp

This day will take you from Pelber to Tibet’s North Face of Mount Everest Base Camp. Along the way, you will be passing through several small Tibetan farming villages that you will be able to photograph. You will cross over the 5200M Gawu La Pass, which offers a panoramic view of the glacier-covered Himalayas. You can see 4 of the world’s 15 highest peaks, including Everest.  

From Gawu La, you will then go to Tashizom town, where you will change your vehicle to a nonpollution bus and reach Rongphu, the highest monastery in the world at just under 5000 meters in elevation. The iconic view of Everest from here will be a high point of your journey! You will then continue to the Tent Hotels, which operate from mid-April through mid-October. The driving distance from Pelber to the Everest area is 100 kilometers, with a driving time of around 4 hours.[5,200m]

Gawula Pass

Day7. Rongbuk / Shegar / Shigatse

After breakfast, see the sunrise at Everest Base Camp, then drive to Lhasa through the same route from Gawu la Pass with the last view of the Himalayas range; stop at any point if you find interest. Overnight at Shigatse.[3,840m], 340KM

Day8. Shigatse / Nyemo Valley/ Lhasa

After breakfast, drive to Nyemo Valley to see farmers and nature and the beauty of Mount Jomo Lhari (this will be the highlight for the day), so you can spend lots of time and then drive to Yangpachen's hot spring pool. You can decide whether to go in by paying entrance fees directly there and moving to Lhasa for the night.  [3,700m], 360Km

Ganden monastery

Day9. Lhasa / Ganden / Drakyerpa Day Trip

Today, we started traveling to Ganden monastery, the most important monastery in the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism. The highlight will be the 1-2 hour hike from the back side of the mountain to see the whole Ganden valley. Since there is only a vehicle trip on most of the tours to make the tour unique, arranging the hiking tour is one of Tibet Travelers' specialties for the Travelers. The hiking route is also known as the pilgrim kora route for the local Tibetans. Very few Travelers can be seen, so it's unique. We will also visit the tomb of Tsongkapa, the Throne of Ganden, the Great Hall of Ganden Monastery, and Ganden Tsogchen, where monks perform prayers. 

In the afternoon, we will visit the 7th-century meditation caves of the previous great master in DrakYerpa. We will also do meditation in the great master's meditation caves. We will also have a 1-2 hour hike to the meditation cave to see the beauties of Yerpa Valley.  Later, we will drive to Lhasa through the high pass Nachen la Pass near Lhasa.

Day10. Depart from Lhasa

Good morning. Lhasa airport or train station is dropping off. The time comes to say farewell to your guide and driver.
