Hey there! How about embarking on a fantastic 10-day group tour with us, starting from Lhasa and covering Mt. Everest Base Camp and Namtso Lake? The journey begins with a visit to the holy city of Lhasa, where you'll experience the most significant Buddhist sites, such as the Jokhang Temple, the Sera Monastery, and the Potala Palace.

On the way to the North Face Base Camp of Mt. Everest, 5200 meters, we'll also stop by Sakya Monastery in Shigatse. If the weather is on our side, you'll be treated to stunning views of the sunset, sunrise, and stars at the world's highest peak!

We'll then head back to Lhasa via Shigatse, and from there, we'll drive north to Namtso Lake, one of the stunning lakes in Tibet at an elevation of 4700 meters. Join us for an unforgettable adventure!

Detail Itinerary

Day1. Pick up From the Airport or Train Station and Transfer To the Hotel (3700m)


Upon your arrival at Lhasa airport or train station, you will be greeted by your Tibetan guide; from the airport to Lhasa city is 60km, and a one-hour drive will take you to the holy city of Lhasa. You will be driving along the Yarlung Tsangpo and Lhasa Kyichu Rivers. If you arrive in Lhasa by train, a 20-minute drive will bring you to your hotel in Lhasa City. Check into the hotel and rest well to acclimatize to the high altitude.

Day2. Lhasa City Sightseeing (3700m)


After breakfast, you will visit the Jokhang, the holiest Buddhist temple in the Himalayas. Each day, many thousands of Buddhist pilgrims come here to worship. Many have traveled well over a thousand kilometers by foot to see this 1400-year-old temple. After lunch, you will visit the 600-year-old massive monastery complex of Sera. While at Sera, you watch the monks engage in entertaining Buddhist philosophical debates. In the evening, you will have free time to wander around the Old Town alone.

Day3. Lhasa City Sightseeing (3700m)


Today, we visited the beautiful Potala and Norbulingka Palaces. Potala Palace is the Winter Palace, built in the 17th century by the fifth Dalai Lama. It provides fantastic views of the entire city and houses the private quarters of the Dalai Lama, numerous grand staterooms, and chapels. Norbulingka Palace is the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, built in the 18th century by the seventh Dalai Lama.

Lightning Potala Palace

Day4. Lhasa / Yamdrok Lake [4,441m] / Gyantse [3,980m] / Shigatse [3,840m], 360KM, 7hrs


Morning drive up to Kampala pass [4794m], you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-Tso and spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar in the distance; the turquoise-colored Lake Yamdrok Yutso is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, the unforgettable vista of the pincer-shaped turquoise water of the lake and fantastic spectacle of Mt. Nyenchen Khangsar glacier from Karo la pass is wonders of the day.

Then, along the Friendship Southern Hwy drive to Gyantse, visit the famous stupa - Gyantse Kumbum, one of Tibet's most stunning architectural wonders. Late afternoon travel to Shigatse with a driving duration of 1 hour 10 minutes through the beautiful farming culture in Tibet.

Day5. Shigatse / Sakya [4,280m] / Pelber [3,950m], 200KM, 4hrs (B)


In the morning, visit Tashilunpo Monastery after driving to Sakya town and visit Sakya monastery on the way, then go to Pelber across Tsou-la Pass (4500m) and Gyatso-la Pass (5220m); with good weather, you can see your first views of Mount Everest. At the end of the day’s 230km journey, we arrive in the evening at Pelber (New Tingri) (4300m).

Day6. Pelber/New Tingri/ Gawu La [5,200m] / Everest Base Camp [5,200m], 100KM, 4hrs


This day will take you from Pelber to Tibet’s North Face Everest Base Camp. Along the way, you will be passing through several small Tibetan farming villages that you will be able to photograph. You will cross over the 5200M Gawu La Pass, which offers a panoramic view of the glacier-covered Himalayas. You can see 5 of the world’s 15 highest peaks, including Everest.

From Gawu La, you will then go to Tashizom town, where you will change your vehicle to a nonpollution bus and reach Rongphu, the highest monastery in the world at just under 5000 meters in elevation. The iconic view of Everest from here will be a high point of your journey!

You will then continue to the Tent Hotels, which operate from mid-April through mid-October. The driving distance from Pelber to the Everest area is 100 kilometers, with a driving time of around 4 hours.

Day7. Rongbuk / Shegar / Shigatse [3,840m], 340KM, 6-7hour 


After breakfast, see the sunrise at Everest Base Camp, then drive to Lhasa through the same route from Gawu la Pass with the last view of the Himalayan range; stop at any point if you find interest. Overnight at Shigatse.

Day8. Shigatse / Nyemo Valley/ Yangbachen Hot-spring / Damxung town [4,400m], 360Km, around 7 hours 


After breakfast, drive to Nyemo Valley to see nomads and farmers and nature; no tourists (this will be a highlight for the day, so you can spend lots of time and then drive to Yangpachen hot spring pool and you can decide whether to go to or not by paying entrance fees directly at there and move to Damxung on the way you will see Mt. Tanggu-la (7500m)and stay a night in a 2-star hotel.

Namtso Lake Stunning

Day9. Damxung / Namtso / Lhasa [3,650m], 310Km, 6-7hours 


After breakfast, drive through grasslands to Namtso Lake, “Heavenly Lake.” Before getting to the lake, we will go through the (Largen la pass (5200m) to see the view of the lake from far away and then still drive about 35km to reach the Lake. Spend the afternoon along the lakeside, and later go back to Lhasa.  Happy nomad families dwelled in their cozy yak wool tents on the grassy pastures, and some close to the road were visitable for having a new experience; before reaching Lhasa, the fertile valleys are nice looking with villages and their orthogonal fields.
