11-Day Group tour from Lhasa to Namtso Lake and to Mount Everest Base Camp via ending the tour at Kathmandu Nepal.

This journey will start by exploring the holy city of Lhasa. You will see the main Buddhist sites in the town including Jokhang Temple, Norbulingka Palace, Sera Monastery, and the Potala Palace. 

Next, you will make the scenic drive to Shigatse going via Yamdrok Lake, Karo La Glacier, and the Gyantse Kumbum Stupa. From Shigatse, you will then drive to the North Face Base Camp of Mt. Everest where you will be rewarded with an up-close view of the world’s highest peak!

From Everest, you will then drive to Old  Tingri where you will see more views of the Himalayas and travel to the Kyirong town border between Nepal. Next day travel to Kathmandu, Nepal via crossing the border town Rasuwa between Kyirong.

Day1. Arrival to Lhasa, Tibet (3650m)


Upon your arrival at Lhasa airport or train station, you will be greeted by your Tibetan guide, from the airport to Lhasa city is 60km, and one hour drive will take you to the holy Lhasa. Driving along the Brahmaputra River and Lhasa River. If you take the train to Lhasa, a 20-minute drive will take you to your hotel in Lhasa City. If you take the flight, 1 hour and 20 minutes drive from Gongkar airport to Lhasa. Check into the hotel, and have a good rest to acclimatize to the high altitude.

Day2. Lhasa sightseeing with a local Tibetan Tour Guide (3650m) 


After breakfast, you will visit the Jokhang, the holiest Buddhist temple in all of the Himalayas. Each day, many thousands of Buddhist pilgrims come here to worship. Many have traveled well over a thousand kilometers by foot to see this 1400-year-old temple. After lunch, you will visit the 600-year-old huge monastery complex of Sera. While at Sera, you watch the monks engage in entertaining Buddhist philosophical debates. In the evening, you will have free time to wander around the Old Town on your own.

Day3. Lhasa sightseeing with a local Tibetan Tour Guide (3650m) 


Today you will start your day by visiting the massive 1000-room Potala Palace, the most iconic building in Tibet. You will work your way up the steps of the Potala and then go through the most important rooms on this famous UNESCO site. After lunch, you will explore the beauties of the summer palace of Dalai Lama ( Norbulingka Palace ) after visiting many monasteries, it's a great option to visit the summer palace where Travelers can visit more than three palaces. In the late afternoon and evening, you will have free time to explore Lhasa on your own.

Day4. Lhasa / Namtso Lake / Damxung town 310Km, 6-7 hours drive (4400meters)


After breakfast travel to Namtso Lake, the duration from Lhasa to Namtso Lake is 240km with a driving duration of 5 hours. While arriving at Namtso Lake, we will spend lots of time near the lake area, Happy nomads family dwelled in their cozy yak wool tent on the grassy pastures and some close to the road are visitable for having a new experience, before reaching back to Damxung town for the night.

Day5. Damxung / Yangpachen hot spring pool / Tsurphu monastery / Lhasa 280km, 5-6 hours drive (3650 meters)


After breakfast, travel back to Lhasa by visiting Yangpachen Hotspring pool as an option via paying entrance fees directly by the client while arriving there. Later travel to Tsurphu monastery, the main monastery of Karma Kagyu school of Je Karmapa, and travel back to Lhasa for the night.

DAY6. LHASA - YAMDROK LAKE - RALUNG MONASTERY - GYANTSE (280km)

On this day we drive approximately 290km, first stopping along the banks of Yamdrok-Tso, the sparkling turquoise lake, for photos. After, on the way to Gyantse we cross Kampa-la (5050 m) and Karo-la Pass (5045 m) to view the Mt. Nojin Kangtsen Glacier falling down near the road. Upon arriving in Gyantse (3950m)

We will visit the Ralung monastery of Drukpa Kagyu School where Travelers can witness the ruins and beauties of the hidden monastery. Fewer tourists at Ralung Monastery. 

Later we travel to Gyantse and visit the seven-story-tall Kubum Stupa and Pelkor Chode Monastery. Also, we admire the Gyantse Dzong (fort) overlooking Gyangste, famous for the British military siege led by Colonel Younghusband in 1903.

DAY7. GYANTSE - SHALU MONASTERY - SHIGATSE (110km)

After breakfast, we drive 90km from Gyangtse to Shigatse (3900m). On the way, we will visit Shalu Monastery for beautiful wall paintings.

In Shigatse we visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, to see the future Buddha’s golden shrine. The Tashilhunpo Monastery is the seat of the Panchen Lama, the 2nd highest in the Tibetan Buddhist religious hierarchy. We also visit Shigatse Market and view the panorama of Shigatse Dzong (fort), with its architecture reminiscent of the Potala Palace.

DAY8. SHIGATSE - SAKYA MONASTERY - PELBER ( NEW TINGRI ) (240km)

We leave Shigatse in the afternoon and drive to Shegar across Tsou-la Pass (4500m) and Gyatso-la Pass (5220m), with good weather you can see your first views of Mt. Everest. At the end of the day’s 230km journey, we arrive in the evening at Pelber (New Tingri) (4300m).

DAY9. PELBER - RONGBUK MONASTERY - EVEREST BASE CAMP (100km)

On the scenic drive from Pelber to Everest Base Camp, we will cross the Gawu-la Pass (5200m) and see 4 mountains above 8,000 meters, such as Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Cho-Oyo (8201m), and Mt. Makalu (8463m).

We then arrive at Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world, 4km from Everest Basecamp. The 100km drive takes approximately 4 hours due to unpaved roads.

Overnight at tea tent dormitory or off-season from November to March at Rongbuk monastery dormitory (No private bathroom and no shower) ( Breakfast )

 

DAY10. RONGBUK MONASTERY - KYIRONG (320km) 

On the final day, we drive to Kyirong, crossing over Lalung-la Pass at (5,050m) and, taking in beautiful panoramas of the Himalayan Range including Mt. Everest (8,848m). On the way, we will also pass by Phikutso Lake and view Shishapangma Mountain 8012M fully planted in Tibet. Once arriving at Kyirong, you will spend a night at Kyirong at a Guesthouse.

DAY11. KYIRONG BORDER- KATHMANDU -NEPAL

On the final day, you will cross the Kyirong bridge and our Nepal agency car will be waiting for you for the trip to Kathmandu. On the way, you will pass by Langtang National Park where we can see the beautiful nature view and drive to Kathmandu. This trip is around 170km but the road is quite bumpy which takes us around 8 hours to Kathmandu. (Accommodation in Kathmandu is Excluded)  After arriving in Kathmandu our service ends.
