12 Day Old Tingri to Everest base camp Trek

BOOK NOW

One of the most popular trek during 2005 was the trek from Old Tingri to Mount Everest north face base camp through Drokpa nomad valley. Old Tingri, also known as Gangkar town looks more like a cowboy town in Tibet. Surrounded by mountains and grassland.

The trek is total 60 km with a duration of 4 days from Old Tingri at 44oo meters to Mount Everest north face at 5200 meters through the valley with mountains and villages and nomads.

The trek also includes Lhasa monasteries, Yamdrok Lake, Gyantse, and Shigatse town with the monasteries and beautiful villages along the way.

Sakya monastery is one of the highlight monasteries of this trekking tour.

Tingri is an important town in Tibet, border town near Nepal and home of the roof of our world the Mount Everest ( Chomolungma ) 8848 meters.

I have done this trek around a decade with few German Travelers, we had a great time. The view of the 4th highest mountains in the world Mount Cho Ou Yo is stunning.  After trekking for 4 days and finally seeing the summit of Mount Everest is a dream come true for my Travelers.

The month for this trek is starting from May to mid-October. Other months are too cold to trek. During the beginning of June and September is the best month for trekking in Tingri region.
