3-star Kyichu Garden Hotel

Kyichu Hotel is a 3-star hotel owned by a Tibetan family located in the old town around 150 meters from Jhokang Temple and around 1 kilometer from the Potala Palace.  The Kyichu Hotel started in the year 1996 and its location is in the old town.

Kyichu Garden Hotel is our favorite hotel. It's our primary accommodation for our Travelers.

The only reason that the Kyichu Hotel is 3-star instead of 4-star is the parking area. The hotel doesn't have a parking area since it is in the center of the town so Travelers will have to stop near the road at the gate of the hotel. This doesn't affect the Travelers since the Traveler's vehicle can quickly park near the hotel gate for arrival and departure.

In the year 2010, The hotel constructed a new building with a beautiful garden restaurant and a view of Potala Palace from the roof.

The restaurant of the hotel has a peaceful garden. The restaurant offers Tibetan food, Continental, Indian, and Nepal foods. Many local Tibetans also have Lunch in the garden in the afternoon because of the food and the location.  Recently the hotel is managed by a Nepali staff, namely Indra at the Reception who speaks good English and Tibetan. Kyichu Hotel is Ranked 8th in the Trip Advisor hotels in Lhasa.

Conclusion

Kyichu Hotel is famous for its great location and beautiful garden. This hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Lhasa, including the Yak hotel, Banakshol hotel, Kirey hotel, and Snowland hotel.

Nowadays Kirey hotel, Snowland hotel, and Banakshol hotel are closed, so Kyichu hotel is a good option for all the Travelers who love a good location and clean room with a peaceful night near the new building garden view.

Thank you for reading Tibet Traveler's article on Kyichu hotel, we will do our best to promote more local Tibetan-owned hotels to Travelers.
