Day1. Arrival and transfer to the hotel (3700m)

You will be met at the Lhasa airport or train station by your Tibetan guide and transferred to the hotel, an elevation of 3600 meters. You can then explore the nearby Old Town of Lhasa and the markets lining Barkhor Square.

Overnight at the 4-star Shambhala Hotel or Gold-star Shambhala Palace, located in the heart of Lhasa city, 100 meters from Jokhang Temple.

Day2. Lhasa Sightseeing (3700m)

After breakfast, you will visit the Jokhang, the holiest Buddhist temple in the Himalayas. Each day, many thousands of Buddhist pilgrims come here to worship. Many have traveled well over a thousand kilometers by foot to see this 1400-year-old temple. After lunch, you will visit the 600-year-old massive monastery complex of Sera Monastery. While at Sera, you watch the monks engage in entertaining Buddhist philosophical debates. In the evening, you will have free time to wander around the Old Town alone.

Day3. Lhasa Sightseeing (3700m)

Today, you will start your day by visiting the massive 1000-room Potala Palace, the most iconic building in Tibet. You will work your way up the steps of the Potala and then go through the most essential rooms on this famous UNESCO site. After lunch, you will explore the beauties of the summer palace of Dalai Lama ( Norbulingka Palace ). After visiting many monasteries, it's a great option to see the summer palace. In the late afternoon and evening, you will have free time to explore Lhasa on your own or do some souvenir shopping.

Potala Palace

Day4. Lhasa / Yamdrok Lake / Gyantse / Shigatse

You will depart Lhasa in the early morning and drive through the scenic Yarlung River Valley toward Yamdrok Lake. Yamdrok is one of Tibet’s four leading holy lakes and is regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in the Himalayas. You get a panoramic view of this spectacular lake with the nearby mountains from the Kamba La Pass. 

Next, you will drive along the lake shore to Nankartse, stopping for lunch. Next, you will begin ascending again to the stunning Karo La Glacier. Here, you can get an up-close view of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang and the glaciers coming off of it.

We visit the Ralung monastery, which was once the most prominent Buddhist college in Tibet and home of many great Tibetan Yogis from the Drukpa Kagyu sect, including Jetsun Ling Repa, Jetsun Tsangpa Gyare, Jetsun Tsang Nyon, Jetsun U Nyon, Jetsun Drukpa Kunley. They are no tourists and sometimes not even locals, so Ralung Monastery is one of the most peaceful monasteries with beautiful landscapes.

Your next stop is the pleasant town of Gyantse, where you will visit the massive Gyantse Kumbum Stupa as well as the Pelkhor Chode Monastery. You will then continue to Shigatse, elevation 3840 meters, and stay at the 4-Star Gesar Hotel. The total driving distance is 350 kilometers. The total driving time is 7 hours.

Shigatse Tashilhunpo Monastery

Day5. Shigatse / Nyemo Valley/ Hot-spring Pool / Damxung

After breakfast, drive to Nyemo Valley to see nomads and farmers and nature; there are No tourists (this will be a highlight for the day, so you can spend lots of time and then drive to Yangpachen hot spring pool, and you can decide on to go to or not by paying entrance fees directly at there and move to Damxung on the way you will see Mt. Tanggu-la (7500m)and stay a night in a 2-star hotel. [4,400m], 360Km

Namtso Lake,7 Days a week in Tibet travel

Day6. Damxung / Namtso / Lhasa

After breakfast, drive through grasslands to Namtso Lake, “Heavenly Lake.” Before getting to the lake, we will go through the (Largen la pass (5200m) to see the view of the lake from far away and then still drive about 35km to reach the Lake. Spend the afternoon along the lakeside, and later go back to Lhasa.  Happy nomad families dwelled in their cozy yak wool tents on the grassy pastures, and some close to the road were visitable for having a new experience; before reaching Lhasa, the fertile valleys are nice looking with villages and their orthogonal fields. [3,650m], 310 km, 6-7 hours Drive.
