8-day Private Tour from Nepal Border Kyirong / Mount Everest North Face Base camp / Lhasa
This journey will start by exploring the hidden beauties of Kyirong, Phikutso lake, Mount Everest North Face basecamp, and the holy city of Lhasa. Highlights of the Tour Altogether, Travelers will spend 1 night in Kyirong Tibet side border of Nepal. Next, you will make the scenic drive to Mount Everest North Face Basecamp and to Shigatse going via Yamdrok Lake, Karo La Glacier, and the Gyantse Kumbum Stupa towards Lhasa. Travelers will visit the main Buddhist sites in the city including Jokhang Temple, Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka Palace, Sera Monastery, and the Potala Palace. You will also be able to explore the Old Town of Lhasa and rub shoulders with some of the thousands of pilgrims who are here each day.

DAY1. NEPAL BORDER / KYIRONG TOWN
Leave Kathmandu early in the morning, our English-speaking Tibetan Guide and Tibetan Driver will be waiting for you at Kyirong Nepal Border Bridge with the TTB (Tibet) Permit. After completing the border formalities at both the Nepalese and Chinese immigration posts we drive to Kyirong town and stay overnight. (Please note: Our services start from Kyirong border only; transportation from Kathmandu to Kyirong will be on your own arrangement.)

DAY2. KYIRONG / PHIKUTSO LAKE / OLD TINGRI
From Kyirong town, we will drive through green lower hills into the dry, arid landscape of the Tibetan plateau, on the way we will visit Phikutso lake national park with a stunning view of Mount Shishapangma (8012M) Only 8000M plus mountain fully planted in Tibet. (if weather permits) there is a breathtaking panorama of the Himalayan range including Mt. Everest – a fitting backdrop to the vastness of the Tibetan plateau and acclimatize to the altitude since the next day is the highest altitude of the tour.

DAY3. OLD TINGRI / RONGBUK MONASTERY / MOUNT EVEREST BASE CAMP
Drive into the valley of Lungchang, see the view of nomads and rivers and mountains nearby and arrive at Rongbuk monastery then drive 4 km to Everest base camp tea tent. Enjoy the sunset, sunrise, and stars at night.

DAY4. EVEREST BASE CAMP / SAKYA MONASTERY / SHIGATSE
Wake up in the early morning to see the stunning sunrise at Mt. Everest, the highest peak on earth. We will see the beautiful Panorama view of 4 Mountains above 8000M including Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Cho Ou Yo and Mount Makalu. On the way to Shigatse, we will turn towards East South to Sakya monastery, which is central to Tibetan Buddhism Sakyapa sects school. After visiting Sakya, we will travel to Shigatse and be wrapped again in the endless vistas of the Tibetan plateau.

DAY5. SHIGATSE / GYANTSE / YAMDROK LAKE / LHASA
In the morning, we will visit Tashilumpo Monastery, which was built in 1447, spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas; after the drive to Gyangtse via visiting Shalu monastery. We arrive at Gyantse after around a 90 km drive, we will visit Palkor Monastery and Kumbum stupa 100 thousand images of Buddha, visit Dzong, the king’s fortress.
On the way to Lhasa, we visit the Ralung monastery, which was once the biggest Buddhist college in Tibet and home of many great Tibetan Yogis from Drukpa Kagyu sect including Jetsun Ling Repa, Jetsun Tsangpa Gyare, Jetsun Tsang Nyon, Jetun U Nyon, Jetsun Drukpa Kunley. They are no tourist and sometimes not even locals so Ralung monastery is one of the most peaceful monasteries with beautiful landscape.
On the way, stop off and visit Karo-la glacier.
Sightseeing to Yamdrotso Lake, which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet (others are Namtso Lake and Manasarovar). After crossing Gangbala Pass, which is over 4850m, then drive to Lhasa City along the Lhasa River.

DAY6. LHASA SIGHTSEEING
In Lhasa (3700m) we explore the Jokhang Temple, the most sacred monastery in Tibet, and the surrounding Bharkor bazaar, the bustling Lhasa market. In the afternoon we go to Sera Monastery to watch the monks debate in a centuries-old manner.

DAY7. LHASA SIGHTSEEING
In Lhasa (3700m) we tour the Potala Palace, the winter palace of the Dalai Lama built in the 17th century by the fifth Dalai Lama. In the afternoon, we will visit Drepung monastery. Drepung, which means “rice heap” in the Tibetan language, lies 8 kilometers west of Mt. Gambo Utse. Drepung Monastery covers more than 200 thousand square meters.

DAY8. DEPART FROM TIBET
On this day Travelers must depart from Tibet, via a flight to Kathmandu or travel to China.
Notes: China visa cannot be extended or made into individual once obtained so if Travelers prefer to travel to China and stay for few days in China, let us know in advance so that we can extend the group visa and put the names of places you would like to travel in China when we obtain the China visa invitation from Tibet Tourism office.
