2. Apply for a Chinese visa

China has introduced a visa-free entry policy for citizens from around 50 countries, allowing them to stay for 30 days. To explore more details about this change and to find information about "Chinese visas" applicable to other nationalities.

Suppose you already possess a Chinese visa or are eligible for visa-free entry to China. In that case, it may take approximately 2-3 weeks to obtain the necessary Tibet travel permit, so the latest date to book the tour is one month in advance. However, suppose you do not have a Chinese visa. In that case, it is advisable to plan your travel to Tibet 2-3 months in advance to ensure the timely acquisition of both the China visa and the Tibet travel permit.

There are a few options for traveling to Tibet. Travelers can travel to Tibet by land, by flight, or by train from Chinese cities or Kathmandu, Nepal.

2. Confirm your entry and exit dates and locations for China or Nepal. Entry to Tibet is allowed only on specified dates and locations.
