3-star Shangshung hotel is another option for a hotel in Ngari, located in the east part of the city.

The price of the room in both hotels is around 380-550 RMB depending on the season.

Zanda or Tada, also known as Tsaparang is famous for the last kingdoms in Tibet, Guge kingdom, and Toling monastery.  

The altitude of Tada is around 3, 700 m above sea level, which is similar to the altitude of Lhasa, making Tada one of the lowest altitude located towns in Ngari prefecture.

3-star Changbo hotel is one of the best in the town, located in the east part of the town.

2. Purang 

Purang, also known as Burang is the border town between Nepal and India.

Many Indian pilgrims are traveling through this route for the pilgrimage to Mount Kailash.

From the other side of the border, Travelers have to trek 4-5 days or take a helicopter to get to Simikot, which is the border town of Nepal between Purang. 

2-star Purang hotel and 3-star Himalaya hotel are the best options in the town.

3. Gertse 

Located on the route of the northern loop of western Tibet Ngari. Gertse is famous for its beautiful landscape. 

2-star Gertse hotel is the best in the town, located in the south of the town.

4. Tsochen 

Tsochen is one of the last towns in the northern route of western Tibet Ngari. Some Travelers will travel from Tsochen to Nyima town and towards Namtso lake making the biggest western Tibet loop tour. 

3-star Tsochen grand hotel is the best in town, located in the west part of the town.

5. Darchen 

The town before Mount Kailash is known as Darchen.

There is one 3-star hotel known as Himalaya hotel, located in the center of the town. 

The price for a room with a hot shower is around 500-1000 RMB depending on the season. This is one of the best hotels in Darchen and also one of the most expensive hotels in Darchen.

They are around seven 2-star hotels in Darchen, most of them are located in the east and west part of the town.

6. Lake Manasarovar Chiu monastery

Lake Manasarovar is also known as Mapham Yutso. Surrounded by monasteries in four directions. Chiu monastery is one of the most popular monasteries. 

Accommodation in Chiu monastery is a local guest house with no private bathroom and no shower. 

They are around seven guesthouses in the Chiu monastery from the town department.

7. Paryang 

The town between Saga and Darchen is known as Paryang. Once a great place to spend a night because of bad road conditions to Darchen but nowadays because of the paved road from Lhasa to Mount Kailash, very few Travelers stays here for a night. 

There is one 3-star hotel in Paryang, located in the east part of the town. This is the best hotel in Paryang. 

The price of a room with a shower is around 350-600 RMB depending on the season. 

All other accommodation in Paryang is a local guest house with no private bathroom and no shower.

Conclusion

As compared to other prefectures in Tibet Autonomous Region, western Tibet Ngari has less comfortable hotels. 

The reason is the location of Ngari, which is far from Lhasa, the center in the Tibet Autonomous Region.

Nowadays there is a paved road to western Tibet from Lhasa and also a paved road from western Tibet Ngari to Xinjiang so it is slowly developing.

There are 3G internet and free wifi in most of the hotels and restaurants in the Ngari, even in the trek kora monasteries like Dirapuk monastery and Zutrulpuk monastery.
