If you plan to visit as a tourist, you'll need an (L) Category visa. For those going for work or business purposes, it's (M); for family visits, it's (Q), or other categories. We recommend choosing the (L) Tourist visa, as the other visa types require a letter of documentation from a company for (M) or from a family member for (Q) before applying for a Tibet Travel Permit.

China simplifies visa applications for many countries. The National Immigration Administration (NIA) implemented five measures to facilitate entry for foreign nationals coming to China for business, study, and tourism. Details on five measures.
