The journey from Chengdu to Lhasa Gonggar Airport takes approximately two hours 10 min and typically costs around 250 US dollars or 1600RMB per one-way ticket, with occasional discounts available for travelers. Additionally, there is a flight from Chengdu to Nyingchi Miling Airport for those traveling directly to Nyingchi, with a similar duration and ticket price as the Chengdu to Lhasa route. Overall, Chengdu is the primary city in China for connecting flights to Tibet.

Currently, the sole international flight to Lhasa, Tibet, departs from Kathmandu, Nepal, and arrives in Lhasa with a duration of 2 hours and 25 minutes. The view of the Himalayan mountains is breathtaking when the weather is favorable. The only available airline for this route is Himalaya Airlines, which departs at 7:25 am Nepal time and arrives in Lhasa at 12:05 pm Beijing time, the cost of the ticket is around 460 USD one way. In windy weather at Lhasa, Gonggar Airport, China Air may choose to land in Chengdu and stay overnight. The following morning, China Air will schedule a flight to Lhasa from Chengdu.
