The train comes equipped with great air conditioning and large windows that allow passengers to take in the breathtaking natural scenery along the way.

Lanzhou is another ideal city to travel to Tibet by train, with a moderate duration of the journey. In peak seasons, it may be difficult for travelers to secure train tickets from Xining to Lhasa, but taking a train from the nearby city of Lanzhou is a viable alternative.

3. How to buy Tibet Train Tickets?

We understand that purchasing train tickets can be difficult, which is why we offer assistance for a service fee of about 300 RMB per ticket. Soft sleeper tickets may be hard to come by during peak season, so we advise travelers to have a backup plan, such as a hard sleeper or flight to Tibet. There are three types of tickets available - Soft sleeper costing approximately 170RMB, hard sleeper costing 112RMB, soft seat costing around 83 RMB, and hard seat costing around 40RMB. The train departs from Lhasa at 8:30 am and offers stunning views of the Yarlung Tsangpo and other beautiful natural scenery.
