Manasarovar Lake

མ་ཕམ་གཡུ་མཚོ་། 玛旁雍错湖 Lake Manasarovar is one of the holiest lakes in our world, known as Mapham Yutso in the Tibetan language, meaning invincible turquoise lake.

Situated at Ngari (30km from Mount Kailash) with an average altitude of 4,590m (15,060 ft).
Religion
Manasarovar Lake is one of the important pilgrim destinations for Bon, Buddhists, Hindus, and Jain Religions. They are four monasteries in each direction of Manasarovar Lake.
Duration
There are 1100 km from Manasarovar Lake to Lhasa, 30km to Mount Kailash, around 150 km to border town Purang, and around 270 km to Ngari Ali Shiquanhe City.

Mount Kailash and Guge Kingdom are the two popular sights near Manasarovar Lake. The Hotsprings near the lake are a good option after the trek around Mount Kailash.

Accommodations
One of the best spots for the night is the Bird Monastery, known as the Chiu Monastery in the Tibetan language. They are a few local guesthouses at the Lake. The accommodation is basic rooms, no private bathroom.
Conclusion
Lake Manasarovar is a great place to relax after finishing the 52 km trek around Mount Kailash. May to the beginning of October are the best months to travel to Manasarovar Lake.
Doing a kora around the lake by vehicle is also a good option to visit the monasteries around the lake and to see the view of Mount Kailash.
