“Penz Patata Restaurant was a wonderful find in Lhasa old town, located down a small side street off one of the main tourist streets. It sells all shapes and styles of Tibetan potatoes, deep-fried and tossed in an array of spices, herbs, chili sauces, and julienned vegetables – you choose!!!

After having to spend a week in Tibet, this little gem of a bright, funky, new restaurant was some light relief to the other fantastic Tibetan food we had been eating.
We went with the recommendation of the owner, a young and vibrant local woman, who spent time studying in Chengdu, and recently returned home to start her business.

It was so good (as you can see from the pictures) we went back for seconds, this time trying out a different herb and spice combo. All washed down with a complimentary sweet tea!
Prices were great - a large pot priced at 15RMB and a small for 8RMB. (Around 1-2 USD)
