Tibet Kyirong Border between Nepal opens


Overland Journey from Tibet to Nepal is one of the most favorite overland journeys for many Travelers. Many Travelers will travel to China, take train or flight to Tibet and finally will enjoy the beautiful overland journey towards Nepal through the Zhangmu border but it has been closed since April 2015 due to the earthquake at Nepal which has affected many areas at the Border.

After the closing of Nepal border Zhangmu, Tibet Autonomous Region Central has focused on opening the Kyirong border for local trades and Chinese Travelers to Nepal but now the good news is on August 28th there is already confirmation that Kyirong border to Nepal will be also available to travel for all the Travelers including Asian and Westerners. 

Kyirong is one of the hidden beauty regions in Tibet, once many great Tibetan masters used to meditate near Kyirong including Maha Guru Milarepa, Drak kar Taso meditation cave of Jetsun Milarepa can be seen on the way to Kyirong.

Kyirong is rich in Nature, beautiful white snow mountains, peaceful green forest and Phikutso Lake, which can be seen on the way to Kyirong. 

The overland journey from Lhasa to Kyirong border will be 8 days including the days in Lhasa and Mount Everest Base Camp, if not including Mount Everest base camp it will be around 6-7 days. 

This is a great news for all the Travelers to enjoy the beautifully hidden natures in Tibet and also a great way to travel to Nepal.
