1. Tibet Travel Motivation for Tourists
This article aims to motivate travelers planning a trip to Tibet. Since Tibet is at high altitude — between 2500 and 5000 meters —many travelers worry about AMS, or acute mountain sickness. However, a 4-year-old boy has successfully reached Mount Everest Base Camp without supplemental oxygen. This demonstrates that reaching the world's highest point—the Mount Everest base camp at 5,200 meters—is achievable for all travelers embarking on a Tibet travel adventure.
2. Tibet Tours High Altitude AMS Tips
The dream of traveling to Tibet is accessible for all travelers worldwide; however, there are a few tips we would like to share before traveling to Tibet.
- Please avoid rapid travel from sea level locations to Tibet. Although a 15- to 20-hour connecting flight may get you there faster, travelers often reach AMS more quickly because of insufficient altitude acclimatization. We strongly recommend taking the Qinghai train to Tibet or spending a few days in Chinese cities such as Chengdu or Beijing to acclimate before reaching Tibet.
- When arriving in Tibet, it is recommended to take altitude medication. Based on advice from previous travelers, we suggest the Chinese herbal Gao yuan an (高原安). Travelers can take three pills three times on the day of arrival. The box costs around $15 USD and contains 20 pills. Our Tibet travel agency can assist you in purchasing this medicine upon your arrival.
- Please make sure you stay in comfortable Tibet hotels, preferably with in-room oxygen, as good sleep is essential for maintaining high energy levels during your Tibet trip.
- Ensure you consume warm, nutritious foods, as good nutrition is vital for maintaining energy throughout your Tibet trip.
- Wearing warm clothing even during sunny days is advisable, as the weather tends to become cold quickly once the sun sets. Particular attention should be given to keeping the stomach warm by wearing appropriate garments.
- Additionally, there is no need to be overly concerned about AMS, as mental relaxation is the key to maintaining a healthy body.
3. Tibet Trip 8-day Mt. Everest base camp
Travelers chose October's golden week for their Tibet trip. The 8-day Tibet trip included a visit to Mount Everest base camp. Tibet Tour: Two boys, aged 4 and 8, playing in the park in Lhasa City.

Remarkably, the boys showed no signs of altitude sickness. On the day of arrival in Lhasa, they visited a local park near the 4-star Shambhala Hotel in the old town with our Tibetan Tour Guide. The hotel provides oxygen and heating from 8:30 pm to 8:00 am. Traveling to Tibet in winter is quite cold and dry, so rooms with heating and oxygen are highly recommended. Without oxygen in the room, sleep can be difficult, which is essential for an enjoyable trip in Tibet.

On Tibet Tours Days 1-3, travelers explore Lhasa's sights, including Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Potala Palace, Sera Monastery, and Norbulingka Palace. Visiting Potala Palace requires a hike to the 13th floor, and we're glad the Tibet travel family made it.

The authentic Tibet travel adventure commences on the fourth day, when travelers travel outside Lhasa towards the Mount Everest base camp.

En route, they pause at the high pass Gambala, situated at an elevation of approximately 4950 meters, near Yamdrok Lake. Among the most popular lakes for travelers to Tibet is the breathtaking Yamdrok Yumtso Lake.

Several remarkable photographs capturing these memorable moments were taken during the tour. Subsequently, participants undertake a hiking expedition to the Karo La Glacier. The weather was clear with a bright blue sky.

The young boys, being healthy, were delighted, and we are pleased that they also enjoyed hiking amidst the stunning, snow-capped mountains with glaciers in Tibet.

Although travelers expressed their love for spending more time in nature, they also visited the Sakya monastery during their trip to Mount Everest base camp as part of the Tibet Tours itinerary.

The breathtaking beauty of the Tibet tours landscape truly begins to unveil itself when travelers reach an altitude of approximately 4,300 meters near Tingri County, which is situated roughly 100 kilometers from Everest Base Camp (EBC).

One of the most remarkable highlights of the Tibet journey is the Gawula Pass, where travelers are rewarded with panoramic views of the majestic Himalayan mountain range from an elevation of about 5,200 meters. From Gawula Pass, the journey continues for approximately 80 kilometers to reach the iconic Mount Everest Base Camp, a drive that typically takes around two hours.

The wonderful family joyfully captures a memorable Tibet tour photograph of the Golden Sunset over the world's highest mountain, known locally as Qomolangma and internationally as Everest, symbolizing the culmination of their incredible Tibet trip adventure.
4. Tibet Travel Reviews on Google Map
After concluding our Tibet travel adventure, the wonderful family gave us a 5-star rating on Google Maps and sent us a lovely message via email.
Dear Tenzin, we want to provide honest feedback on our Tibet trip with your agency and our guide, Gelek, and driver, Nyima: Our recent trip was a 5-star experience from start to finish. Everything was smooth and stress-free, from being picked up at the airport and train station to checking into hotels and handling visa controls. The schedule was flexibly adjusted to meet the needs of both children and parents, allowing ample time for individual wishes.

Our tour guide, Gelek, was consistently friendly and accommodating, providing us with a deep insight into the culture and beliefs of Tibet. He even managed to captivate the children with the journey's historical and cultural aspects. Gelek and our driver, Nyima, were extremely helpful and supportive at all times, assisting with luggage and other daily necessities of such a trip (a lot of stuff needs to be handled every day).
Their dining recommendations were perfectly tailored to our needs, guiding us to fantastic local eateries. We wholeheartedly recommend both Gelek and Nyima and would gladly embark on another tour with them. It was simply wonderful. Thank you for making our trip unforgettable. Best regards
