We express our gratitude for being featured in the renowned travel guide Lonely Planet. Our managers previously worked at one of the oldest local Tibetan travel agencies, FIT Banakshol, where our manager, Tenzin, met Lonely Planet writers around 2005. Subsequently, he shared information about Tibet tours, for which we received commendations from Lonely Planet writers, such as Bradley Mayhew.

Tibet Travelers Manager Tenzin, also known as AKA MC Tenzin, is a talented Tibetan rapper. Back in 2003, while working at the Yak Hair Tea Tent Accommodation near Mount Everest’s base camp, he loved listening to hip-hop music, including 50 Cent. He fondly remembers those times as some of the happiest — enjoying the breathtaking view of the world's most beautiful mountain and the coolest tunes.

In 2005, he became a tour guide at the oldest Tibetan local company in Lhasa, near Mount Kailash and Mount Everest. During this period, he would write hip-hop rhymes. He recalls a special night at Lake Mapham Yumtso, Manasarovar, when he composed a love song by candlelight, with the gentle wind whispering through his small room. Those moments remain some of the most cherished in his life.

In 2010, he released a full-length Tibetan hip-hop album accompanied by a VCD (Video Cassette Disc). Fans can still find these videos on YouTube and enjoy the likes from many enthusiasts. Even now, he continues to write songs because he believes it's the best gift he can give to the world.

MC Tenzin is known as the "Godfather" of Tibetan rap and was featured in a June 2021 profile by the South China Morning Post. As of 2026, Tenzin is a renowned live streamer on the Chinese version of TikTok (Douyin), with nearly 60,000 followers, and he enjoys entertaining his audience.
