1. China will simplify Visa applications.

China simplifies Visa Applications for many Nations. We welcome International travelers to travel to Tibet and witness its beauties with Tibet Travelers' local Tibetan travel services. As of January 1, 2024, China is making visa applications more accessible for US tourists. The Chinese Embassy has announced that US tourist visa applicants will no longer be required to provide air ticket bookings, hotel reservations, or invitation letters.

1. Free visas for Europeans, Malaysians, and Singaporeans.

Along with citizens of France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain, Malaysian Nationals will now be allowed to enter China without the hassle of a visa for up to 15 days.

Great news for Singaporean travelers! Now, you can enjoy 30 days of visa-free entry to China. Starting in March, Thailand and China will permanently waive visa requirements for each other's citizens. For more information, check out  Xinhua News.

Latest news March 7th, 2024: China has announced that it will expand its visa-free policies for six European countries, including Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and Luxembourg. This new policy will be implemented starting March 14th.

If you have visa-free access to China, you will only require a Tibet travel permit to visit Tibet. A scan of your passport is all that is needed to obtain a Tibet travel permit, provided that your nationality is eligible for visa-free travel in China.

2. The 2024 Tibet Travel Season starts in March.

We're excited to announce that we'll start the Tibet Travel Journey starting from March 15th. To ensure you have a hassle-free travel experience, we suggest planning your Tibet tour at least two months in advance so you have enough time to get your China Visa from the Embassy, and we can arrange your Tibet Travel Permit!

3. The most commonly used payment app in China.

For foreign travelers in China, Alipay is the most commonly used payment application. The name of the app in Chinese is 支付宝 (Zhi fu Bao). This app can be easily downloaded from the app store and has been downloaded millions of times. It is available in both English and Chinese. The Alipay app allows foreigners to register their IDs and use them for transactions as large as 5000 USD, an increase from the previous limit of 1000 USD. Additionally, tourists can use Alipay to pay for their Tibet tours.

5. Mount Everest and Mount Kailash Update.

Are you planning a trip to Mount Everest? That's awesome! Just a heads up, the roads from Lhasa to the base camp are now paved for your convenience. To keep the beautiful natural environment of Mount Everest National Park pristine, EV non-pollution buses are operating from Tashizom town (which is only about 30km from the base camp).

If you plan a trip to Mount Kailash and the Guge Kingdom in Ngari, you'll be happy to know that the roads are nicely paved. Mount Kailash trek is only possible from May to October because of the snow at Drolma La, a whopping 5600 meters high. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your trip.

7. Social Responsibility Projects.

We at Tibet Travelers bought cozy jackets for 319 students and five cooks at one of the highest primary schools at an elevation of 4300 meters. Our main goal is to give back to the locals by using a portion of our tour profits. We've also completed two social responsibility projects in the past few years. We appreciate your support.

We recommend a few travel itineraries for travelers. The first Tibet travel journey is a 10-day Tibet travel that begins in Lhasa and culminates at Mount Everest base camp and Namtso Lake.

The second Tibet trip we recommend is a 13-day Tibet travel journey from Lhasa that takes you to Mount Kailash, where you will trek for three days over 52km at an altitude of 5000 meters. During this tour, you will also visit the Guge Kingdoms and Mount Everest base camp.

If you're a traveler intending to visit Nepal following Tibet, we highly suggest our 8-day overland excursion from Lhasa to Kathmandu, which includes a stop at Mount Everest's North Face Base Camp.

For those who enjoy spirituality, hiking, nature, and hot springs, we suggest taking our 9-day travel journey to Tibet, which includes breathtaking nature excursions. Our suggestion for those who enjoy trekking is our 11-day Ganden to Samye trek.
